History of Pinebrook
The Pinebrook area gained its fame in the 1930s and 1940s for the ski jumping competitions which where held at Ecker Hill. Currently, there is a monument at the base of the Ecker Hill jump that commemorates the accomplishments and tragedies of the early ski jumpers. For a few decades, the area remained dormant until the 1960s when the area become a popular venue for informal four-wheel drive hill climb competitions.
