Parks in Park City
Park City is a family town and as such, Park City's parks are the best in the nation! We are more than ski resorts and film festivals; if you can think it, Park City has it!
City and Neighborhood Parks
Check out our South End Pavilion in City Park! With covered picnic tables, a playground for the younger kids, various fields for softball and volley ball and courts for tennis and basketball set against the back drop of our snow topped mountains, you will have to agree, this is one of the best parks in park city. It has it all!
For the diehard boarder, take on Park City Skate Park on Sullivan Road. It’s open from sunup to sundown 7 days a week. Grab your board and show off your tricks on our bowls, fun box and quarter pipes…you will never want to leave!
There’s even a park for the mountain bikers. Park City Dirt Jump Park is also open from sunup to sundown 7 days a week, and even offers free admission! Go airborne on dirt jumps for all levels of bikers in a safe environment; helmets and pads are a requirement!
State Parks in Park City
Jordanelle State Park is the nearest one to Park City, just 5 miles south of Park City on Highway 40. If you like boating, windsurfing, fishing, waterskiing, hiking, mountain biking and even cross country skiing, this park can be your home away from home! Even for the less active, grab a book, curl your toes in the sand of our sandy beaches and relax as your family members take advantage of the more physical activities available in all the parks in Park City!
If you’re willing to venture a little further away from Park City – about 25 miles Northeast of Park City, to be exact – the Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park is a can’t miss. This 28 mile long non-motorized trail follows the route of trains that transported silver and coal when Park City was still a big mining town. Saddle up your horse, hook on your skis or just lace up your hiking boots and enjoy the serenity of nature on this incredible trail.
For water enthusiasts Echo Reservoir is the place for you. Rent a boat and toss your line to catch your dinner back at your campsite. Trout, Bass, crappie, and catfish all call Echo Reservoir their home and you can troll the waters from May to October. House boats and wave runners (for the more athletic vacationer) are also available for rental, so let the party begin!
