The Colony at White Pine Canyon

The Colony at White Pine Canyon is a 4000+ acre real estate parcel of what became (and still is to become) part of The Canyons Resort area in Park City, Utah.

This real estate subdivision has the ability to become home to nearly 300 of the largest ski-in, ski-out homesites in North America. The developers coined the term "ski-ranch"� for the area; the homesites average over 5 acres. Given the size of the lots, this area will never have the neighborhood feel or ski chalet village, but instead will retain a get-away in the wilderness feel. Approximately 200 of the homesites have been platted and sold. Real estate lot sales in this area began in 1998 and now nearly 100 homes have been built at The Colony at White Pine Canyon.

The large lot sizes and thick aspen and pine stands hide the large slope side homes in this private gated community. The homesites at the Colony allow for a main residence and a guest house. Design guidelines encourage building luxury homes that blend into the natural surroundings. These have been well received and have earned the area a Responsible Development Award from Mountain Living Magazine. Most of the homes are not visible from the road (there is one major road  'White Pine Canyon Rd' snaking through the area) and are more likely seen as a glimpse while you ski or snowboard by or pass above on a Canyons Resort lift.

Real estate at The Colony at White Pine Canyon is limited to the overall master plan, but there are new phases becoming available in conjunction with sales and the expansion of The Canyons Resort. While there doesn't appear to be a bad lot within the Colony, the future development and coming phases may prove to be some of the best. The most recent addition includes the most expensive lot to date with an asking price of over 4 million dollars. From the lot it is easy to imagine a home, guest house and barn/stable area to enjoy the outdoors, skiing and sun.
