Sundance Resort

The Sundance Resort is unlike any other in Utah. Located amidst the stunning beauty of Mt. Timpanogos, the resort is surrounded by over 5000 acres of protected wilderness. This small resort puts nature and the outdoors on a pedestal while covering less than 500 acres inside this much larger area of natural surroundings with very little development. Sundance’s 42 ski and snowboard runs are accessed by 3 lifts and a rope tow. Sundance has a base area elevation of 6100 feet and the resort summit is at 8250. Sundance is situated about 45 minutes from Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. The area features award winning restaurants and a world class spa as well as 26 kilometers of groomed cross country track for skating or classic style skiing. There is also 10 km of dedicated snow-shoeing trails. The name Sundance is synonymous for many with the Film Festival that shares its name and fills nearby Park City and Salt Lake City with movie goers, star gazers and want-to-be filmmakers for nearly two weeks each year in late January. The resort is much more than its film festival and in many ways quite the opposite. The rustic atmosphere of the resort and its beautiful natural surroundings create a tranquility not found within Utah’s larger resorts. Sundance is a fantastic area for year around mountain recreation. The resort is open during the summer for mountain biking, scenic chairlift rides, hiking, fishing in the nearby Provo River, horseback riding, concerts, plays and more.
