The Newpark Hotel is a collection of 69 whole ownership condominiums which operate as a hotel. The Newpark Hotel is the centerpiece of the Newpark development (which also includes town home residences, commercial, retail and office space as well as workforce housing) at Kimball Junction in Park City, Utah. Newpark is adjacent to Redstone Center (in fact it would be hard to tell where one starts and the other ends were it not for their architectural differences).
The Newpark Hotel offers a very different experience than many other hotels in the Park City area. The feel of the hotel is much more modern and its list of services and nearby attractions is not the same as the ski-centric hotels with the mining heritage of downtown Park City. Amenities at the Newpark Hotel (condominium residences) include an indoor/outdoor heated pool with lap lane, toddler pool, oversized hot tub, exercise room, steam room and sauna. The hotel offers concierge service and a business center and lounge. There is also a 4500 square foot conference space (advanced bookings for the conference space are already filling for future years). The Newpark Hotel along with other Kimball Junction and greater Park City area growth is helping to create a rapidly growing list of amenities and services in the area that is quickly changing the feel of the area and giving it an identity of its own. The opening of the outdoor amphitheatre is scheduled for summer of 2008 and there are plans for a bowling center, plus more retail and restaurants which will add to the destination feel for the Kimball Junction area. These are all great additions to the recreation and tourism draw that already exists 5 miles to the south in Park City with its 3 world class ski resorts and historic town.
The condominiums within the hotel vary only slightly; almost all of the units are 2 bedroom models of approximately 1100 square feet (there are 4 two bedroom floor plans). Due to the hotel nature of the development, all units are furnished completely down to the eating utensils. There are decks with private hot tubs which overlook the Swaner Nature Preserve toward Park City to the south. All of the condominiums face the same direction and they all can be configured so as to accommodate a one or two bedroom for rental purposes. The overall feel of these condominiums is a good blend between a home and a hotel. The blend should work well for its purpose and have the ability to be a great second home property as well as rental income property in Park City.
